Charlotte Tan, born in 1960, draws inspiration from the harmonies of music and her own profound contemplations on life’s mysteries. In her art, she masterfully captures the essence of beauty that emerges from the unexpected chaos and the indomitable human spirit that triumphs over adversity, culminating in a joyous celebration of life’s journey. With a diverse range of mediums, including paper, clayboards, fabrics, canvas, and wood, Charlotte’s works encompass both grand and intimate scales, inviting viewers into a world of mixed media wonder. Beyond her artistic pursuits, she dedicates herself to teaching, channeling her passion into nurturing future artists. Trained at NAFA and armed with a BFA from the College of Fine Art (UNSW), Australia, with a specialization in Drawing and Painting, Charlotte has showcased her brilliance in 7 group exhibitions in Sydney, while her captivating solos graced the prestigious Artshouse, Singapore in 2009, and Sculpture Square in 2011. As a testament to her skill, her works find homes in the esteemed collections of corporate entities and private collectors alike.
