Delia Iliesiu, a visionary artist born in 1950 in Baia Mare, Romania, possesses an innate connection to the world of art. Surrounded by a family steeped in creative affinities, she developed a profound love for fine arts and music. Her journey led her to the Institute of Fine Arts in Bucharest, where she honed her craft and earned a Master’s Degree in Applied Arts/Ceramics. Delia’s artistic odyssey took her to ex-Yugoslavia, where she garnered widespread acclaim as a renowned ceramicist over a remarkable 17-year period. In 1992, she embarked on a new chapter, immigrating to Singapore with her husband, artist Milenko Prvacki, and daughter Ana, ultimately becoming a proud Singapore citizen in 2002. Delia’s transformative body of work since the early ’80s has revolutionized the sculptural medium, seamlessly merging technology, mixed techniques, and her fervent passion for other art forms and archaeology. The vibrant tapestry of Southeast Asia’s natural beauty and cultural tapestry has infused her creations with newfound subject matters, reinforcing her dedication to ceramics and its limitless potential. While predominantly working with ceramic material, Delia’s artistic prowess extends to bronze and GRC sculptures, as well as captivating tapestry translations of her three-dimensional pieces. Alongside her independent practice, Delia embarked on groundbreaking public projects in 1995, leaving an indelible mark on urban and natural surroundings through her distinctive interpretation of mural work and integrated forms. As the founder and owner of Deliarts Pte Ltd, an esteemed art-consulting and art-producing company, Delia continues to shape the artistic landscape with her boundless creativity.
