Eric Chan

Eric, currently based in Singapore, has established himself as one of Southeast Asia’s notable contemporary painters. Eric’s artistic journey is characterised by his commitment to revitalising painting as a powerful and relevant contemporary medium. With a Master of Fine Arts (Painting) degree from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Australia, and Lasalle College of the Arts, Singapore, he has cultivated a reputation for his innovative approach to painting.
Having actively exhibited his work both in Singapore and abroad, including in countries like the UK, Hong Kong, UAE, Australia, Malaysia, Philippines, and Indonesia, Eric’s art has garnered international recognition. His ability to merge various artistic influences and techniques sets him apart as an artist who pushes the boundaries of traditional art forms. Throughout his career, Eric has received accolades and honors that attest to the impact of his work. Notably, he was awarded the Jurors’ Choice at the Philip Morris ASEAN Art Awards in 2002, as well as the Highly Commended accolade at the 2003 UOB Painting of the Year Competition.
The Singapore Art Museum houses his works, and he has earned a place in corporate and public collections such as the CapitaLand Collection, UOB Art Collection, UBS Art Collection, OCBC Art Collection, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Singapore. These collections stand as a testament to the enduring impact and value of his art within the cultural and artistic landscape.
