Florence Ng

(b. 1956, Singapore)

Trained in Manual and Applied Arts at the Baharuddin Vocational Institute in Singapore from 1973 to 1975, Florence’s early years were focused on honing her skills in illustration and advertising. Her foray into the world of glass art began in 1984, when she first engaged with glass as a material while working on window contracts. This initial encounter sparked her curiosity and desire to explore glass as an artistic medium. In 1990, she learned the intricate art of glass fusing and blowing from respected American artists Roger Nachman and Carmen.

Florence has created glass artworks for significant projects, ranging from large-scale glass etchings to intricate installations, demonstrating her versatility and expertise in working with glass as a medium. Her contributions included a 14-foot glass etching at Tang Village and the awe-inspiring bamboo feature wall spanning 203.75 meters in length and 3.5 meters in height at UOB Plaza’s Executive Suite.
