Born in 1965 in Jiangsu province, China, Jin Jie 金捷 is a remarkable artist whose journey began with a graduation in Oil Painting from Nanjing University of Arts in 1991. Pushing his boundaries further, he earned an M.A. in Western Arts and Lecture in 1997, followed by a Ph.D. in Fine Art in 2008 from his alma mater. Jin Jie’s artistic prowess shines through his semi-abstract creations, which beautifully showcase his mastery of traditional Western oil painting techniques. With over two decades of exploration and growth within China’s most competitive art institutions, he expertly employs inviting colors, especially various shades of grey, black, and white, occasionally interwoven with bold strokes of vibrant hues, to depict the mesmerizing rural landscapes of his cherished homeland.
