Ki is a series of paintings that explores abstraction and the colour – White. In Japanese, the word Ki took on two meanings – tree and energy. Therefore, these paintings took inspiration from nature such as trees and mountains. The work adopted an abstract approach to exploring white through addition and subtraction of the colour and made use of various colours to re-enhance the colour.
